A fire in a building housing workers in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, on Wednesday claimed the lives of at least 49 individuals, including numerous Indians. Major General Eid Rashed Hamad stated that the event happened at approximately 6:00 a.m. local time (0300 GMT). According to reports, the fire has been successfully suppressed, and the cause is being looked into by the authorities.

People from Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, and Nepal were among the surviving victims.
In order to assess the situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, Ajit Doval, Vinay Kwatra, the foreign secretary, and PK Mishra, the principal secretary to the prime minister. Modi called the fire event "saddening."
As instructed by the prime minister, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh is flying swiftly to Kuwait to supervise medical attention for injured Indians and to guarantee the timely return of the deceased victims' bodies.
PM Modi urged the government to provide all help and prayed for a quick recovery for those injured, according to the official statement.
