WWDC 2024: Apple reveals iOS 18 with Control Centre, Lock applications, and more.


New features for Messages, Mail, Control Centre, Maps, and more will be available in iOS 18, which Apple unveiled.

At WWDC, Apple introduced iOS 18 with many new features. The Control Centre looks and feels different, with more customization options.  Apps other than Apple can be added to Control Centre. iOS 18 also lets users quickly access new categories of their most-used functions, including as media playback, Home controls, and connectivity. Users can effortlessly swipe between selections.


Icons can be resized, colored, and more on the home screen. Apple is letting users alter app icon sizes for the first time.


Messages will get many new features in iOS 18.  Tapbacks now have additional replies, emoticons, and stickers. Apple also added Send Later, which lets users schedule contact communications.


Additionally, Messages is getting many new text formatting options. Users can also customize unique text effects for certain messages. Apple will finally support RCS in iOS 18, which will please Google. iOS 18 adds satellite Messages for when cellular and Wi-Fi are unavailable.


With iOS 18, Photos gets a new design. These include the new Trips section, where users can view their journey photos. Customizable photos let users organize their collections. A new carousel displays prominent photos, favorites, and can be customized.
